Wisconsin Public Service (WPS) employees care deeply about the communities where they live and serve. That’s why, at the end of 2022, employees chose to donate $5,000 to Special Olympics Wisconsin.
The donation is part of WPS’ Safety Charity Challenge, a companywide program to encourage employees to live and work safely, while positively impacting their local communities. Each quarter, employees who meet their safety goals have the opportunity to direct a contribution from the WPS Foundation toward one of several charities.
Last quarter, they selected Special Olympics Wisconsin, a nonprofit organization that provides an inclusive environment for people with intellectual disabilities to train and compete in athletic events year-round. For 50 years, Special Olympics Wisconsin has helped children and adults across the state develop their physical fitness, demonstrate courage and share their gifts with their communities. It is the largest sports program in Wisconsin for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Special Olympics Wisconsin is one of hundreds of nonprofit organizations WPS and the WPS Foundation are proud to support every year.
