The Wisconsin Public Service (WPS) Foundation is now accepting applications from area high school seniors for the 60th year of its technical college scholarship program.

The WPS Foundation’s technical college scholarships have been in place since the program’s founding in 1964, helping thousands of students in Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula continue their education. In total, the WPS Foundation has donated nearly $6 million through all of its scholarship programs to help area students pursue college degrees or technical diplomas.

Legacy of enhancing educational opportunities

The WPS Foundation’s technical college scholarships are part of its commitment to support students and help them succeed. The scholarships help graduating high school seniors continue their education at select Wisconsin technical colleges. Last year, the WPS Foundation awarded $20,000 to support 28 students from across northeast and north central Wisconsin.

Scholarship details

High school seniors living in the WPS service area can receive a technical college scholarship to attend one of six select technical schools full-time next fall:

  • Fox Valley Technical College
  • Lakeshore Technical College
  • Mid-State Technical College
  • Nicolet Technical College
  • Northcentral Technical College
  • Northeast Wisconsin Technical College

Scholarships are awarded to help eligible students work toward completing a one-year technical diploma or two-year associate degree program.

How to apply

Interested students can apply for a WPS Foundation technical college scholarship on the foundation’s website. Applications are being accepted through April 30.

Each scholarship awarded is for $750. Recipients are selected based on academic achievement, school and community leadership activities, and financial need.
