Wisconsin Public Service (WPS) crews replaced 20 utility poles, re-strung more than two miles of power lines and fixed damaged natural gas equipment after a powerful tornado struck Ringle, Wisconsin on April 17. The tornado caused significant property damage and impacted electric and natural gas infrastructure.

WPS is collaborating closely with local emergency authorities to make repairs where possible and to coordinate plans for restoring energy services to affected customers.

Electric workers from various locations, including Wausau, Rhinelander, Minocqua, Stevens Point, Merrill, Sturgeon Bay, and Oshkosh, are helping with repairs.

While some customers have already had their energy restored, others may remain without service until conditions are safe to restore. Restoration delays could occur for some due to the extensive damage.
